Canadian Railroads > More Catching Up - May 12thDate: 05/18/18 08:47 More Catching Up - May 12th Author: cn6218 I had last weekend off, and the weather cooperated for a few pictures. At 10:44, 120 was on the causeway crossing Rocky Lake, near mile 14 of the Bedford Sub with 2844 and 2815 leading just two "junk" cars (the rest was intermodal), and 3075 as the DPU. This time of the morning (and time of the year) turns out to be the sweet spot for this location. The sun is high enough that the wire shadows aren't on the train, and far enough to the south that the pole shadows aren't either. Much later in the morning it will be too nosy and high. From the looks of things, in a few more years the pole line will have collapsed anyway.
Being the weekend, there was no gypsum train to go after, but VIA came through as usual. Running pretty close to on time, 6433 and 6434 had a Renaissance consist with Chateau Dollier and Tremblant Park on the rear, as they passed the west end of Sandy Cove siding at 17:02 with train 14. Fred Date: 05/18/18 17:48 Re: More Catching Up - May 12th Author: cn6218 I'm more concerned about the weeds growing up like they have on the other side. It was good until the south track was pulled up, and then they didn't bother with any brush cutting. What was once a good late day shot (with no pole line at all) is now gone.
