Canadian Railroads > Fatality derailment near Thompson, Man.

Just watching the news at lunch.  There was an item that said  "two people had been extricated" from a derailment
south of Thompson, Man.  One of these has not survived.  That's all the info I have.

I just found this. Nasty freight derailment with double stacks all over the ground and covered hoppers:

The derailment video of the derailed stack cars was a CP train that derailed earlier than the Hudson Bay line derailment with the fatality.

Yes, source tells me freight derailment somewhere before Thompson! One engineer deceased! Prayers for his or family!

The video in the tv item is NOT the current derailment.
The photo in the Toronto Star item is NOT the affected rail line.

Just watching the stock market this AM. They say the derailment occurred at Ponton, Man.
Train consisted of 3 locos and 27 cars.  Derailed while crossing a bridge near there.
This info from BNN (Biz news network).    No pictures.
