Of course all that walking between my sleeping accomodation and the diner the previous day and a half left me famished on arrival, thankfully VJ's Drive-Inn is just across Main St. and mere steps from the Winnipeg Station (in fact if you look closely below the illuminated VJ's sign you can see the unmistakable glint of a stainless Budd passenger car) so of course is a must stop for the weary traveller!

No trip to Winnipeg would be complete without a stay at the venerable Hotel Fort Garry, built in 1913 by CN predecessor Grand Trunk Railway!

If VJ"s is like those ones in Quebec bring it on ! Those home made fries/ toasted and steamed hotdogs bring it on!

How many months per year is VJ's open?  I can only imagine what it would like to be there in a blizzard.
