Canadian Railroads > Another cruise ship in the backgroundDate: 09/21/18 09:18 Another cruise ship in the background Author: Mberry In a not very common move, CN 527 is heading into the Port of Montreal light power with CN 2941 & CN 2609 on Tuesday afternoon. It will pick up cars to bring to Taschereau yard and combine it with the rest of its train, which was left on the Butler Spur. In the background is the cruise ship Viking Sea.

Joe Date: 09/21/18 16:04 Re: Another cruise ship in the background Author: andersonb109 Viking ships only carry about 600 passengers (and no annoying kids allowed). So six large boats would be enough. We did a river cruise in 2013 and it was excellent. Sort of like a train as you are never more than a few feet from shore so much to see even while laying in bed.

Yes, hard as it may be to believe, our planet is populated by lots of non-annoying kids. One could easily make a case for the avoidance of all those annoying adults, eh? Well played, sir! Fred Date: 09/23/18 00:30 Re: Another cruise ship in the background Author: coach I just love this photo location, with the harbor, urban area / walkway, old canal locks, and a main rail line sailing over the water and into the urban area. Really perfect for a great photo!

The MV Viking Sea has capacity for 930 passengers and carriers a crew of 550. I suspect some lifeboat capacity is achieved with inflatables. (I have two daughters under the age of three). Michael Date: 09/23/18 21:09 Re: Another cruise ship in the background Author: jbwest I suspect the annoying adults in this thread were probably annoying kids in their younger years. I fly a lot and have trained myself to be sympathetic to the young parents who bring their children with them. I have one friend whose grandson had a passport for a trip to France when he was two months old. Once you modify your expectations accordingly, interacting with the kids you meet while traveling can be fun and add to the experiece. I can also add that having made both river and ocean cruises with Viking, they have the best food on anything that floats.

They have been raised in some places but not in others. Date: 09/24/18 08:26 Re: Another cruise ship in the background Author: DrawingroomA DavidP Wrote:

Inflatables are extras. Whilst at sea I hope that if the ship does go down that it does so evenly. If it lists sharply to one side the lifeboats on the opposite side can't be lowered.(Remember the Costa Concordia.) That's when the inflatables come in handy. |
