images: 01 CDU, shows low pressure alarm, train length 9679, "0" pressure on the tailend, tailend is "stopped" and the marker light is on. We were doing some switching at the Pinnacle Pellet plant at Colebank siding. 02 air gauges 03 load meter /ammeter, they always showed a few amps even in idle. thanks for looking. Doug Date: 11/08/18 09:56 Re: a few for on this day Author: LKeithR Doug,
Always enjoy your pictures--just don't always have time to say so. I see in pic #3 that when you get the amps up to 1400-1500 you have very limited run time before things get exciting... Keith Robertson Langley, BC Date: 11/09/18 03:14 Re: a few for on this day Author: hoggerdoug Picture #3, not very likely to get into the red / minutes rating with these unit, computer protected to prevent overheating and damage to the electrical gear. Quite often on a heavy 2 percent grade the unit might peak out at 1200 amps. Also with the heavy load, Engineers had to consider trailing units and their maximum amperage and minutes rating, particularly if they were older and lower horsepower generally meant lower high amperage rating. Also with high load amperage, had to be careful not to break a knuckle of pull a drawbar.
