Two Old Warriors On BC Rail
Author: CP5702

This week saw different GE C40-8 locomotives show in the lead on the former BC Rail, four days apart, at North Vancouver. The first was BCOL 4625, and the second was GECX 9141 (ex-UP 9439)

1). Sitting at the north end of McLean Yard, BCOL 4625 has tied onto northbound train 546, on November 12, 2018. It may still have its double ditch lights, however 4625 has lost its KL5 horn, which produced some nice echos along the Sea to Sky.

2). Pulling forward down the yard, 4625 faces the Capilano River Bridge and shows off the need for a good wash down.

3). And on November 15, 2018, GECX 9141 sits in the same spot as 4625, as it gets ready to lead 546 to Squamish.

4). A closer up of 9141 reveals the blanking out of its former UP self. The other interesting detail is the GECX lettering in the numberboard.
