Looks like the rear truck of the 2nd car did not want to take the diverging switch. 
(Should have bought Peco rather than Atlas).

There's something fishy going on there.  Even before the rear of the train was pulled back, the target of the crossover switch on the north track (far right in the photo) was showing green.  These are "run-through" switches, although they haven't actually been used that way for a number of years (too much trouble to maintain them).  But in this case, the engineer would have lined the switch before making the facing point movement.

Unusual to see that configuration of engine that many tracks over.

Latest word is that Wednesday's 14 out of Montreal will have the Budd equipment.

Reservia is now showing that. Despite the "VIA40" discount that is supposed to be available until midnight, Reservia would not give this discount when I checked it at 23:20. 

Wednesday's #14 with a Budd consist encountered delays. Although it was early into Sainte Foy, departure was 2 1/2 hours late. Arrival in Halifax was 6 1/2 hours late at 00:18.
