Most thank you Charls Date: 12/03/18 17:25 Re: CPR RS10 beaver shield Author: CPR_4000 Looks like a decal, not a 3-D casting like on The Canadian's cars. Hard to tell, though, and I've never been certain.

They were sheet steel. Charls have you tried EXPORAIL? They have many things squirreled away. Date: 12/03/18 18:14 Re: CPR RS10 beaver shield Author: moonliter CPR_4000 Wrote:

It was not a decal or a casting but a sheet metal shield attached to the nose of the locomotive. On the F units this shield divided the yellow stripes. I remember seeing photos of the F units without their sheet metal shields thus leaving a shadow of darker paint where the shield once was. This may have been around late 1968 or early 1969 when Canadian Pacific Railway changed its name to CP Rail. Gone with the tuscan and grey and in the Action Red and the Pacman. Bill Linley's Morning Sun Books "Canadian Pacific in Color" have good photos of this shield. However, the Fairmont Store still sells CP Heritage stuff. I doubt they have exactly what you are looking for but I do have 2 blue jean shirts with that exact logo purchased a couple of years ago.

One small correction to the above statement, it was Canadian Pacific Hotels that bought out the Fairmont chain. From Fairmont's own history, "Motivated to expand globally, Canadian Pacific Hotels acquired Fairmont Hotels in the fall of 1999, creating Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
