Canadian Railroads > The Ocean at Campbellton,NB -- Dec 80Date: 12/05/18 05:44 The Ocean at Campbellton,NB -- Dec 80 Author: gcm I was a passenger and had some time for a few shots on a cold day at Campbellton.
(1-2) Unfortunately the head end was in shadows but the Alcos still looked great. CN had six of these cars and from what I've read , they have all been scrapped. Gary Date: 12/05/18 06:04 Re: The Ocean at Campbellton,NB -- Dec 80 Author: knotch8 Wonderful photos. Thanks for posting them.
In photo 5, it looks like there's a car that's boxier-looking on the rear. Do you remember if there was a steam car on the rear? Date: 12/05/18 06:05 Re: The Ocean at Campbellton,NB -- Dec 80 Author: refarkas You certainly made the best of your limited time to take photos. That water tank in photo five certainly makes it a more interesting photo.

(Well really not today but last June.....and I’m sure if I took the same pictures today it would look more like those above. It’s sunny and -6C or 21F) Date: 12/05/18 13:59 Re: The Ocean at Campbellton,NB -- Dec 80 Author: krm152 Great photo series with concise captions.

Yes...just cross over the VanHorne Bridge in the last photo....you’re in Quebec and on the way to Gaspe and that’s the route of a special bus connection VIA has arranged with the Ocean over the Holidays between Campbellton and Gaspe. https://www.viarail.ca/en/transportation-services/our-partners/regim (Just too bad the Chaleu wasn’t still running!) |
