Canadian Railroads > CP Spiral Tunnel derailmentDate: 01/05/19 09:13 CP Spiral Tunnel derailment Author: Chessie Word from multiple sources is that trains are moving/staging on the Laggan Sub. in preparation for reopening of the line later today. Thursday's derailment, initially reported as 27 cars inside the tunnel was later revised down to 15 cars. I would imagine there has been a lot of traffic via Coalhurst/Crowsnest/Fort Steele the past two days.

The spirals and the original Connaught tunnel have traditional ballasted track.
