BAR far from home
Author: hoggerdoug

A few images taken at Chetwynd BC, June 1973.  BC Rail had at least 4 BAR Geeps to help out with power shortage. Not sure how long the units were on the property. First image is BAR 73 - 69 & 63 most likely ready on train No 48, Chetwynd to Prince George. Rest of the images are of the other BAR units. I did not bother cleaning these old "Kodak Instamatic" moments, not very good quality.

That number 69 sure got around.  It was the only one in that paint scheme of 8 BAR geeps leased by the Long Island Rail Road in the early 70's.  Here it is at Ronkonkoma, NY.   Photo was taken by either my Dad the late Stephen J Benkovitz or Michael Woodruff the father of Brian Woodruff the person who's collection it is from.

The BAR was well known for renting out locomotives every year.
Better to be out making some money for the road then sitting around doing nothing.
