Laggan Sub - Feb 11
Author: KickingHorse

I was in Banff this morning at one of our jobsites. Just leaving and hear, "8138 west clear signal approaching Banff."

Head to Banff Station and guess what do I found -

There are 13 grain cars stashed in Storage Track #2 or 3. Reports on the derailment said there were 13 cars that did not derail. Not sure why the UP 5536 is there but I'm guessing the CEFX unit at the far end is the 1040 which was the tail-end remote on the derailment train.

The 8138 is leading a blue k+s potash train at Banff West.

Same model and number range as the one in the derailment, maybe the "Feds" are running tests with it?

For a 170-car potash train - 2+1+1 is normal for summer and 2+2+1 is normal for winter
