Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday in North Bay, ONDate: 03/04/19 15:38 MLW Monday in North Bay, ON Author: moonliter Photo1:
Having just arrived in North Bay on a sunny summer day, I walked over to the downtown CP Rail station, about a mile from the CN/ONR station. Just as I got there a westbound freight was coming into town, my guess is it was No.411 but am not certain. 8785 is a RS-18 built by MLW in 1958. North Bay, ON July 9th, 1977. Photo 2: How things have changed in my adult lifetime. The only thing modern in this photo is the paint. Both the locomotive and box car ride on friction bearings, the engine has a Golden Glow type headlight, kerosene switch lamps are still in use. S-3 6588 was built by MLW in 1955. North Bay, ON July 9th, 1977. Photo 3: In 1977 CP Rail's North Bay shop building was accessed by a transfer table, I do not know if there was ever a roundhouse there or not. Here another S-3 awaits its next assignment. North Bay, ON July 9th, 1977. Gerry Gaugl Ottawa ON Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/16/19 19:44 by moonliter.
