Canadian Railroads > Saturday afternoon in OttawaDate: 03/11/19 18:11 Saturday afternoon in Ottawa Author: Mberry I was in Ottawa for the day on Saturday and after dropping off the rest of my family at the in-laws I went out for a couple of hours.
1-First I shot 4-8-4 CN 6200, which is on display in a park outside the Canada Science and Technology Museum. 2-Thanks to a local railfan who was listening in, I learned that CN 589 would be leaving Ottawa shortly. This is the only freight train that serves the city of Ottawa and surrounding areas. We went to the Ramsayville Road crossing just out of town and shot VIA 35 first, which had VIA 902, two LRC cars and four HEP cars. 3- After VIA 35 and VIA 26 passed in rapid succession, 589 followed VIA 26 east with eased GP38-2 GMTX 2260 and about fifteen cars in tow, almost certainly heading to Coteau.
