Canada Adventure Day 1: Classics at Sarnia
Author: Ohiorailfan

My friend and I just got back from our 9 day trip on Saturday night. We started by going to Chicago for 2 days then coming home and crashing at my place for the night before heading to Canada for 7 days. Along the way we stopped at Port Huron and found Q149 working with a CN C40-8M leading. Our first day was mostly driving, but we stopped at Sarnia for a few hours to see what CN had running. They had 3 yard jobs working. One had 2 GP9's( Zebra Paint and 15th Ann.) and a GP38-2W, one job had a GP9 and a GTW GP38-2 and the last job had a solo GMD1. We also captured a few other engines near the Via station as well as a few freights. One freight had a C40-8 leader and another GMD1 trailing. We don't see CN power like this in the states, especially the GMD1's. Enjoy!
