Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday on the BCOL 36 years agoDate: 03/18/19 16:54 MLW Monday on the BCOL 36 years ago Author: perklocal In March of 1983 my friend and fellow fan Mark Perri and I made a trip to British Columbia. This was my first trip to the BCOL and I was not disappointed. On the morning of March 19 we followed a northbound freight out of North Vancouver on the Squamish Sub. Power was 710,807,760,751 (M630, C425, SD40-2, SD40-2) #1 Garibaldi #2 near Whistler #3 Crossing over Rte 99 at MP 91 south of Pemberton.

At this point #14 made a cut to add the Pemberton Helpers mid-train. #14 already had a pair of remote slave units near the hind end of the train. That made a total of 8 MLWs on this train. #4 Here is #14 southbound on the Squamish Sub at MP 82 between Green River and Wedge. Head-end power 703,608,723 (C630, RS18, M630W) #5 The Pemberton Helpers consisted of a trio of M630s (709, 713, 707) #6 Last but not least were the Remote Slaves 726 and RCL 684 (M630W, M420B). It was quite a show !
