Alberta to increase oil pumping limits, begin new rail plan in Ju

Financial Post says the Province will increase the amount of oil which can be pumped. And it expects the Province's oil by rail expansion to begin in July.

Link to Further Easing of Oil Production Restrictions

Just yesterday I got around to reading a little item in the Financial Post from Thursday, March 14, p. FP5. Crude-by-rail volumes were slashed by half in February compared to January, on account of the narrowing price difference making crude-by-rail subeconomic. This reminds me of one of the climactic lines delivered by John Cleese as Dennis Moore, the highwayman, in a Monty Python episode: "Blimey, this redistribution of wealth is trickier than I thought." There just might be more predictable investments right now. I don't envy anybody.

The Premier called a provincial election for Alberta today, voting will be April 16, so I would not bet on the July implementation just yet.

They can increase pumping all they want, but how are they going to move it?
From most reports the existing pipelines are pretty much running at capacity.

YES

That is one reason why the Province's changing oil car program is so curious.

There's no new track to export the stuff...
