Hello,

after visiting the homepage seeing the animated European style steam locomotive with buffers and all...
In the age of computer technology, they seem to take their heritage seriously and maybe even paid for this.

Not much effort put into it. But Canada is a laid back understated kinda country. I think I'll move there.

That's the best they could come up with? Their 15th Anniversery units a few years back were way cooler

That is just pathetic! At the very least, they should have boosted the fonts by 20%, then put it in a red parallelogram whose sides aligned with the white separation stripe.

I consider it to be much more tasteful than some of the monstrosities coming out of the US.

For 100 years that's a pretty crappy design.  It looks like some just painted a red stripe, slapped the logo and 100 on it and called it a day.

They should follow ONR's lead and paint up at least one unit in heritage colours.

And what would heritage colours be?  100 years ago CN trains were powered by steam locomotives, painted black. This comes pretty close to that.

In the diesel era, for a brief decade, some CN locomotives were painted in green, black and yellow (sometimes gold). But as of 1961, the official colours have been red, white and black, and the scheme on this unit has got that nailed.
