Canadian Railroads > Via # 1 at Kamloops BCDate: 06/30/19 16:52 Via # 1 at Kamloops BC Author: Train611 Hello to all...Happy Canada Day Weekend!
We have had some excellent weather in Kamloops. When it is nice...IT IS NICE! On June 29 I managed a couple of images of Via # 1 around Kamloops BC. 1. 3 units (6446-6421-6438) and 21 coaches are about 5 miles east of Kamloops. 2. Via # 1 stops at 1944k...76 " off the scheduled arrival time. 3. After a fuel top-up and a crew change Via # 1 was off to Vancouver. The quiet evening on the North Thompson River allowed for a close-to-perfect mirror image. Thanks for looking. 611 Date: 06/30/19 16:59 Re: Via # 1 at Kamloops BC Author: cozephyr Wonderful catch of VIA #1 on the North Thompson River bridge near Kamloops, BC-!

As VIA Rail has rebuilt all of their F40's, there is no reason to retire them. Date: 07/01/19 06:42 Re: Via # 1 at Kamloops BC Author: amtrakbill Very impressive !
Thank you Date: 07/01/19 07:16 Re: Via # 1 at Kamloops BC Author: 3rdswitch Very nice indeed.

Cheers Park (must be shot with a Nikon, eh buddy !!!! ;-) Date: 07/01/19 10:06 Re: Via # 1 at Kamloops BC Author: feclark Congratulations on IOTD; the bridge shot is more obvious, but I love the approach shot to Kamloops. Every trip I've made to the area, I see this generic potential leaving/entering town, but we're never in a position to set up and wait. So this is beautifully visualized ahead of time, and well done!

At least they weren't termed "carriages". ------------------------------------------------------- > Not seeing the Panorama Car in this particular > consist! It takes three consists to maintain the full Toronto-Vancouver cycle in this summer's schedule (which also sees Trains 3-4 operating only between Vancouver and Edmonton). Panorama cars are used in only two of those three consists, but they make the full run between the two end points, rather than being used solely between Edmonton and Vancouver as in years past. |
