MLW Monday - Big M and a C-424 Approaching Dorval

This shot is from May 8, 1985, showing a WB between Lachine and Dorval at 1846. M-636 4727 and C-424 4239 are in charge of 60 cars of mixed freight, with a preponderance of US box cars (e.g. BAR, B&M, P&W) headed for Toronto, if not points beyond (Detroit or Chicago, using Canada as the route from Maine?). Somebody might know this train number; the time of day and consist seem like good clues.

Extra 4727 West is the train in your excellent photo, Fred.

I checked in my employee tts and it show that no regular train operated on the Winchester sub. ( yes there were trains but all ran as extras along this stretch of track)   The Vaudreuil sub and Westmount sub only have passenger trains listed in this time period.

Might have been 917 or 937 to Windsor?

937 ran earlier in the afternoon usually.  I would say 903.

BTW the train is still in the City of Lachine.  Heading towards Dorval and points west!

Agreed, and also to previous reply, yes it's running as an extra, but if I had $1000 for every time I shot #911 or #503 or whatever running white flags, or similarly the 200 and 300-series freights on CN through Ottawa, I might be retired already. Hence my question, and please, no snark is intended on my part.
