Canadian Railroads > CP 7000 SD70ACU Leads coal loadsDate: 09/02/19 10:42 CP 7000 SD70ACU Leads coal loads Author: BCR4619 With a bright picture posted yesterday of a leading CP 7000 on FB I figured this would be my first and last time ripping to Boston Bar for a Coal train, Hah!
1. We caught up with CP 7000 train 867 leading through Martinson on the CN Ashcroft Sub. 2. CN 119 Crossing the Anderson creek trestle. CN did not look good today with some identity issues on their locomotives! 3. 7000 following closely behind. Date: 09/02/19 10:44 Re: CP 7000 SD70ACU Leads coal loads Author: BCR4619 4. Coasting along the Fraser River on the Ashcroft Sub.
5/6. Popping out of one of the many tunnels railway west of Hells Gate. Date: 09/02/19 10:46 Re: CP 7000 SD70ACU Leads coal loads Author: BCR4619 7. Rounding the bend at Popkum, BC
I had wanted to catch it rolling though Mud Bay but due to the Coal Dumper failing at Roberts Bank there was no room for 867 to continue westward and was parked in the siding at Pratt. Enjoy! Was that operation pre-rebuilding? Posted from Android Date: 09/03/19 12:41 Re: CP 7000 SD70ACU Leads coal loads Author: Train611 Excellent photos
And locations. 611 Posted from iPhone Date: 09/03/19 18:00 Re: CP 7000 SD70ACU Leads coal loads Author: Locotrol2 I've had AC4400's and SD90's fail as well. I prefer EMD power, but the GE AC units are pretty good, however nothing beats EMD 645 powered engines. I'd take 3 SD40-2's over 2 AC units anyday.

Was this train shorter than the usual length? Date: 09/04/19 06:15 Re: CP 7000 SD70ACU Leads coal loads Author: BCR4619 They normally do run 2-1-1 however I am wondering if these guys dropped their second unit off at Geddis as photos yesterday indicate they had two units on the Mountain Sub. I did not pay much attention to the axle count however both sets that ran this week running with the SD70ACU's in the lead position were running 1-1-1
