Picture 1 - Hudson Bay Railway service train has arrived on July 11 - Leased locomotive HCLX did the switching while HBR 5005 rested
  Note the "Sons of Martha" monument at the right of the picture
This monument was constructed in Churchill sometime between 1928 and 1932. Inspired by a 1907 poem by Rudyard Kipling, the text was later adopted as part of a ritual performed by engineering students as they enter the profession. The entire poem is contained on plaques attached to the monument. The monument is believed to commemorate the workers who built the Hudson Bay Railway terminating on Hudson Bay at Churchill, and erected at the direction of railway contractor Harry F. McLean (1881-1961).
Picture 2 - Weather has worn the monument but some plaques are still readable
Picture 3 - HBR 5005 has yet to be turned on the wye which is some distance out of town
