I know Fire Lake is an abandoned mine site , still with a spur. What would all Mont Wright (the active mine site) be doing with all the rock?

Haven't been there since 1992.

Very nice.
Now I'll spend an hour on the Web trying to figure out where this is and what it means.

I'll star here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartier_Railway  then go to Google Maps for a while.

This will explain what's going on.  Evidently Fire Lake was reactivated in 2006 intermittently and in 2012 continuously.

https://www.transformerlavenir.com/en/facilities/amem-facilities/mining-sites-mont-wright-and-fire-lake/

From the link:"Fire Lake is an extraction mining site without a crusher or concentrator. Mining activities are carried out as at Mont-Wright but the mining equipment is smaller in size. All the raw ore from Fire Lake travels to Mont-Wright by train four times a day on average."

By the way, I haven't been there since 1981.

d.
