Canadian Railroads > EXO’s Mascouche Trains via Taschereau Yard

I see posted on another board that EXO’s Montreal-Mascouche trains will continue to run to/from Gare Centrale.....but now via Taschereau Yard. This is the same route that VIA’s Senneterre/Jonquiere trains use.

When the Mount Royal Tunnel closes for the REM reconstruction the Mascouche trains were originally to have terminated north of the tunnel and passengers would have transferred to the Metro or buses to reach downtown. The Tunnel closes in January but it will probably be next summer before the rerouting starts. Wonder if this will be permanent or just until REM opens?

Adds about 15mins to the run but stays a one seat ride.

They have only had a year or so to come up with this solution and it will not be in place until the spring/summer?  Yeah that works the students will be mighty happy!!!!

I don't get this. If the Tunnel closes in January, how do they wait until July for the reroute that the VIA Remote trains use ?

It looks like CN wants to re-establish a separate second track for the passenger trains from East Junction through Taschereau. Right now, it's mainly a single main track.

Trains probably terminate at Sauve...and you take the Orange Line Metro downtown
