Miserable Alberta Monday's-Typical January Day At Shepard
Author: arwye

GP38-3015 leads an ecelctic mix of power on eastbound train #96 through Shepard, Alberta on January 26, 1974. Don't let that sun fool you. To borrow from a now politically incorrect song....Baby Its Cold Outside! Trailing units are GP35-5002 and GP9's 8677 & 8813. Richard Yaremko

I can almost feel the cold radiating from this first-rate image.

Well composed photo, and a great reflection of railroading on the prairies. Love those grain elevators, and the consist.

The bare trees frame it perfectly, and the two boxcars on the siding are perfect elements, too. Some people don't, but I like the 5" stripes on the cab face and nose. That's a lovely shot for so many reasons.
