Canadian departure from Toronto question
Author: inCHI

I just saw the Canadian consist back into Toronto Union Station from the west side, I guess coming from the VIA coach yards. It leaves out of the east side though, right? If so do they wye the train? (power was facing West.)

The Canadian comes down the Bala Sub to Union Station (east side). Pulls out to the TMC at Mimico for servicing then backs into Union Station with the power facing west ready to head up the Newmarket Sub to the York Sub...essentially looping through Toronto.

(thanks BigSkyBlue...you beat me to it!)

Thank you very much for that explanation and prompt reply! That was so fast that now I have a chance to get a video of it departing.

And here is visual proof that the Canadian departs westbound. Photo taken from the Bathurst street bridge on 9/18/19
