MLW Monday, Sault Ste.Marie yard engine 1972

In 1972, CP's yard engine in Sault Ste.Marie ON was this nicely maintained MLW S-series parked beside a lawn and ornamental hedge. 7099 still had footboards and a notice telling yardmen not to board them when moving .

My favourite scheme for a switcher; especially the script. CPR's 20 MLW S-4's seemed to stay west of Quebec; we had S-2's and S-3's running around the Montreal terminals like ants! I only shot a couple of S-4's, and only in Ontario. Not to say S-4's were not seen in my area, but I didn't capture them.

Nice roster shot.
