Heritage in the Canyon
Author: cp1400

Canadian Pacific recently unveiled the first of ten heritage painted SD70ACU engines being rebuilt from their stock of long stored SD9043ACs. The rebuild includes new cab, new wiring and lots of extras. The heritage units released are sharp looking I must say. 7010 in the Canadian Pacific script scheme was on the point of train 100 leaving the Vancouver Intermodal Facility in the Vancouver BC area on Saturday Nov 2, 2019.

1. Train 100 eastbound at Agassiz BC 09:55am

2. 7010 on the approach to the old siding of Katz, near Hope BC  10:12am

3. Emerging from the first Yale tunnel 10:49am

6. Rear view of 7010 as it departs North Bend 11:57am

Great suff, also interesting to see how many photos can be had from one chase in the Canyon. On my trips I was happy just to find a train and a pretty picture to put together.

Great pics.

It's amazing how they put just 1 locomotive on the front of those long trains.

Excellent stuff, looks like a fun chase. I definitely miss railfanning the canyon after moving to Alberta!
