CN587 is a train the operates from Vernon/Armstrong BC area to the CN Yards at Kamloops North. The train comes off of the Okanagan Sub to run on CP tracks at MP 117.0 on the CP Shuswap Sub. It runs west on CP to the switch at Kamloops East MP127.1, where it leaves CP and heads to the CN Yards in North Kamloops. It passes the Heritage CN Station Building at Lorne St. (not occupied), crosses the South Thompson River and runs 2 1/2 miles to the CN Yards. This westbound trip (587) runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The consist could be anywhere from 50 - 80 cars. The train goes back (CN588) on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. 1. The train takes the crossover at MP121 from south to north track. Location called McCracken 2, The train crosses the South Thompson River 3. A close-up of the power shows a BCOL4641 as one of the units. (From BC Railway Days but painted CN Colours). As always, fun to be out there.
