Canadian Railroads > Restored & Repainted exCN FP9Au 6520 revealed at Squamish MuseumDate: 11/17/19 15:27 Restored & Repainted exCN FP9Au 6520 revealed at Squamish Museum Author: Marcus The West Coast Railway Association museum in Squamish, BC,
has revealed the beautifully restored and repainted ex CN FP9Au 6520. It had moved from Ontario to Squamish 7 years ago. A large group watched it roll up to the museum station under its own power. Hopefully, some day, it can get out on the road. WCRA has a web page explaining the restoration. https://www.wcra.org/wcra/index.php/preservation/restoration-of-engine-6520 Edited 3 time(s). thank you for that.better then the green hmm. Don Date: 11/17/19 17:08 Re: Fresh Repaint exCN FP9Au 6520 revealed at Squamish Museum Author: cn6218 Yeah, I'm kind of fond of that scheme too. The green and gold sems to be the first choice for preservation groups, but the FP9s spent far more time in the stripes than anything else (even VIA). I applaud the choice!

I love the green and gold scheme as much as anyone but variety is welcome and this looks great. Excellent choice, well done and thanks to all responsible.

Here's a picture of 6518 in the same scheme from 1968 - notice the striping on the sides of each unit are lined up in the same way with the vents and the portholes. Really nice job by the museum folks - well done!! Date: 11/21/19 20:29 Re: Fresh Repaint exCN FP9Au 6520 revealed at Squamish Museum Author: rbenko |
