MLW Monday in 1987
Author: Mastadon

I recently scanned some old K64s from a trip to Ontario in 1987. Here's a small sampling.

First up is Canadian National M420 3503 eastbound at Port Granby with a GP40WL-2 and an F7A.
Next is CP Rail C424 4222 at West Toronto with a RS18 second out.
Finally, VIA FPA4 6789 was westbound through Bayview interlocking in Hamilton.

Wow, stunning shots; love the first photo especially. One of the F7's used in snowplow service out of Stratford during winters.

Thanks for posting; more please!

Interesting photos. All sorts of details to see.

Ah-ha, that's what all the action around the radiators is all about. Had seen it before but didn't have the details. Did these go out west in general duties, or were they exclusively for snow plow duty?

All three are fine shots. It's good to see number one with a pristine R-O-W. No weeds.

To my knowledge they stayed in the east, I could be wrong. There were at least two F7's and two GP9's with the big snow shields for plow service.

First-class images. That F7A in photo one looks like it was set up for snowplow service.

6789 is alive and well today, back in Canadian National colors at the Monticello Railway Museum in central Illinois.

Wonderful images, but the second one is my favorite.

Very nice work; the CP WB coming up to Lambton is a powerful shot, nice urban mess.
