Canadian Railroads > CP1 and stone arch bridge, Glenogle BC, 1978Date: 01/13/20 15:45 CP1 and stone arch bridge, Glenogle BC, 1978 Author: eminence_grise During the construction era, CP constructed a number of stone arch bridges. Some have survived to the present day and some are still in service.
This bridge however was demolished after CP extended Glenogle siding. On a fine June evening in 1978, the westbound CP "Canadian" is shown along the Kicking Horse river in BC. I'm thinking some of those bridge stones may still exist around the yards of a few of the demo crew.
