Canadian Railroads > Bras d'Or WednesdayDate: 02/05/20 17:35 Bras d'Or Wednesday Author: cn6218 Why Wednesday? Because VIA's Bras d'Or only operated two days a week: Halifax to Sydney on Tuesdays, and Sydney to Halifax on Wednesdays.
The summer season cruise train only operated for five seasons (2000-2004) and this image is from the return trip, just west of Port Hawkesbury, on July 26 of the first season. The short train is on a causeway across a cove in the Strait of Canso, and in a few more miles will cross the Canso Causeway and be back in mainland Nova Scotia.
