K S hopper train

At Revelstoke B.C , this afternoon a Westbound hopper train with CEFX1028/9710 mid train 8725/9834 with K and S hopper cars

what is the origin and destination of these trains  the hopper cars look new  ?

Potash i presume?

K&S Potash Canada Ltd has a mine at Bethune SK.  Cars are destined for Pacific Coast Terminals in Port Moody BC.

thanks  are these on a similar route as the CanPotex trains ?

Yes, but Canpotex trains go to Neptune Terminals in North Vancouver. Canpotex is a joint owner of that facility with Teck Resources, which ships coal.

I shot a k+s train near Seebe (Laggan Sub) on Sunday Feb 9

They also have trainsets that are blue.

The cars are little shorter than the Canpotex cars. This train was 730 axles (175 cars). Wintertime Canpotex are usually 710 axles (170 cars). This train went in the siding at Gap. It seemed to use a bit less of the siding than a Canpotex would but both are in the 8500' range.
