MLW Monday - Chopnose RS-3s at St. Luc
Author: feclark

From April 16, 1977, and my first visit to St. Luc yard in Montreal, this pair of chopnose RS-3s, 8445 and 8450, were working the hump. The lighting forced me into the coupled shot, unfortunately. These were definitely not elegant, but very functional as far as providing visibility. The spliced Multimark was collateral damage in the effort.

They chopped the short hood but the controls are arranged for long hood front operation. Why?

Reminds me of the Alco C-415, which we never hear about anymore. I don't know if the Canadian subsidiary made them.

All 26 C-415s were built by ALCO, none were built by MLW.
