Canadian Railroads > VIA # 2 Blocked??

Does anyone know if VIA #2 is blocked near Portage la Prairie?  Noted #2 only an hour or two late before that point and now is showing 12 hours late for Winnipeg.  CBC said last night there may be blockages by demonstrators at or near Winnipeg.  Time to get those demonstrators off the tracks!

Although this blockade of la Société du chemin de fer de la Gaspésie (formerly CN) does not affect passenger service, there is some freight on that line.

These people are trespassing. Tell them to move or use force to remove them. Simple. But the progressive Canadian government won't do anything about it. Probably thinking there are in the right. After all it really is their land...isn't it?  No, it WAS their land. It isn't now. They are on private railway property. 

No hope of the federal government taking any action against the trespassors who are illegally preventing the operation of the railways. Many of the protesters are supporters of the current prime minister and given that we have a minority goverment which could fall at any time, the only response from the liberals will be meaningless statements about working together to solve the problem. The liberals are strictly anti oil and have written off the voters of the oil producing provinces.
The only hope for action from the liberals is when the economy of Quebec starts to suffer as they are desperate for votes there.

Anyone know what happened to passengers on #2 west of WPG and on #1 that arrived WPG tonight?   Presume many were ticketed beyond WPG but also  presume both trains terminated there.

Only two VIA trains running the Sudbury - White River Budd cars and the Churchill trains but only from THE PAS and Churchill
