Miserable Alberta Monday's-Kicking up snow at Monarch
Author: arwye

Just before 9AM on March 24, 2000 an eastbound coal train is passing through Monarch with a pair of ES44AC's leading an AC4400CW. (9538-9502-9617). This metallurgical coal is probably bound for Chicago and Inland Steel, who had been buying out of southern British Columbia now for nearly a decade. The winter of 1999-2000 would be the last one I would spend in Alberta, my home Province. Richard Yaremko

Geez, you're making me misty-eyed, Richard. Seriously, that's a very nice, moody shot, with a great sky.

You should have rrartist from the Western board paint that up in water colors. He has a fantastic ability to capture such a scene.
