Nice catch on QNSL 525 - that's one of the rebuilt ex-BHP Aussie SD70s.

Work done in Tacoma, so it's heading to it's new home for the first time.

I haven't been there, how does it travel the last couple of miles? Last I heard the QNS&L was an isolated railroad. Do they use a barge or load it on some sort of ship, maybe an empty ore carrier ?? Interesting project for many reasons.

Back in the day, there was a dedicated heavy lift ship which handled railway and mining equipment between Montreal and Sept.Isles/Port Cartier/Pointe Noir. along the St.Lawrence River.  The Port of Montreal had a celebrated crane barge called "Hercules" which handled generations of locomotives.
