Canadian Railroads > MLW Monday - Hauling Passengers in 2013Date: 05/18/20 06:47 MLW Monday - Hauling Passengers in 2013 Author: cn6218 There are a number of tourist operations in the US that use MLWs to haul their trains, but that has been rarer here in Canada. In the summer of 2013, L'Amiral was giving locals and cruise ship passengers a tour along the Gaspé coast between Gaspé town and Barrachois using former CP RS-18u 1849 and 3 former GO commuter coaches. Unfortunately this only lasted one season before the track and bridges became unable to support any trains on the far end of the line. After being stranded in Gaspé for four years, SFG 1849 was dismantled and moved to the active part of the line so it could still haul freight for Société du Chemin de Fer de la Gaspésie, still wearing its blue passenger livery.
