Canadian Railroads > One More Winter Scene of the OceanDate: 06/30/20 05:35 One More Winter Scene of the Ocean Author: cn6218 This time it's a Renaissance train, with two un-rebuilt F40s leading it along the shoreline of Bedford Basin on December 14, 2005. In the background you can faintly see the north end of Halifax and the cranes of the Fairview Cove container pier. The Renaissance sets were slowly phased in, starting in 2003, as equipment was modified for Canadian use. At this point there were no transition cars (other than the baggage), so there were no Park cars on the Ocean. I think it wasn't until some time in 2006 that VIA had all three sets operating, although only two of those were properly winterized, so a Budd set was substituted in the colder months when the schedule was still 6 trains per week.
