Canadian Railroads > ALP45 dual modes in MontrealDate: 07/20/20 14:17 ALP45 dual modes in Montreal Author: twropr After New Jersey Transit announced orders of extremely expensive ALP-45A dual mode locomotives (over $10 million a piece), some on the passenger board asked why NJT had not offered to buy the unused ALP-45s that had been used in Montreal commuter service.
Can someone confirm the status of the Montreal dual modes - last I heard they were all in service? Thanks! Andy Date: 07/20/20 16:38 Re: ALP45 dual modes in Montreal Author: jp1822 twropr Wrote:

I do think a few MR-90 MU's ought to be modified with PTC and 25 cycle transformers for NJT Princeton Dinky service, though only the center high-level doors could be used, and then there would be a gapping problem with the platform at Princeton Jct. . |
