A lot of power on Prince Edward Island June 1973
Author: photobob

Five units lead a train on Prince Edward Island back in June 1973. My Grand Father was born on Prince Edward Island and a visit to the island on my cross Canada trip was in order.

An excellent scene from an interesting but unique and somewhat remote railway operation.
Thanks for your superb photo posting.

Superb post! I love those units (never saw one live), and the framing of the train is brilliant. All those journal boxes make a neat element.

Thanks for that!

Nearly 450 km of the old CN right-of-way across the island has been preserved as the 'Confederation Trail' for hiking and biking.

Here's the trail in Montague where the old station is the town's Tourist Centre and Marina Office.......and also the old Turntable site.

Great photos!  That has to be one of the more scenic turntable locations in the country.
