Canadian Railroads > Laggan Sub. derailment -- August 3Date: 08/06/20 00:03 Laggan Sub. derailment -- August 3 Author: railsmith There was a derailment at Mile 129.00 of the Laggan Subdivision on Monday at about 04:00 local time. Only two cars (4th and 5th in train) derailed, and there were no injuries, but that location is inside the Upper Spiral Tunnel, which could make the re-railing work challenging.
This involved an eastbound manifest train (400-01) travelling uphill. The fourth car was a bulkhead flat loaded with utility poles, the fifth an empty hopper. Does anyone have further information? How long was the line blocked, etc.? |
