Canadian Railroads > F-Unit Friday in MontrealDate: 08/07/20 05:06 F-Unit Friday in Montreal Author: cn6218 In 2001 two FP9Aus were still maintained in Montreal, and often assigned to the 601/603, the Jonquiere and Senneterre trains. 6307 had the misfortune to encounter a dump truck in a crossing collision and was out of service for a while, but on August 22, 2001 it was back in service with a new paint job (and a rather unattractive dual sealed beam headlight on the nose). The combined train had just left Central Station, and was passing the Peel Basin of the old Lachine Canal, currently drained and being rehabilitated.
6307 and 6313 were sold a few years later to Ohio Central, but then repatriated to Canada in 2006 by Canadian Pacific, where they were renumbered 4106 and 4107 and used on the Royal Canadian Pacific train. 6307 had originally been CN (later VIA) 6515 before being rebuilt in 1984. GTD |
