Richardson unit train in B C

today there was a full  westbound unit train of loaded hoppers ..Richardson stencilled ..with CP 8622/UP 2679  rear DPU 8071 heading across the Shushwap Sub at 10 am

what sort of commodity was this grain or another product?

Did they look like this?

Sid Richardson is a supplier of carbon black, used in the manufacture of tires (in this case, Michelin in Nova Scotia), and probably other things.

Grain.  James Richardson International operates a large export elevator terminal in North Vancouver, formerly Pioneer Grain. 

The train is 303-683. CP uses the 303 series for grain loads from a variety of origins in the three Prairie provinces. Some are interchanged to CN at Thornton Yard, some at Sapperton, but in all cases the "last mile" move is handled by CN..

The TGRX mark you mentioned in your second post is for Wells Fargo Rail Corp.

Solid unit trains of these cars also turn up at Fraser Surrey docks.
