The Burrard is now in private car service. I rode it on the Yolo Short Line in 1998- we chartered it for an American Freedom Train crew reunion- I guess our 11th (we get together every 2yrs) SR Date: 09/11/20 04:43 Re: The Super Continental east of Jasper May 1973 Author: refarkas Superb image.
Bob Date: 09/11/20 12:03 Re: The Super Continental east of Jasper May 1973 Author: llafro From the window arrangement, it appears to be one of 12 1959-built business cars. It could well be #93, now in private ownership as Tioga Pass. #93 was stationed in Edmonton for most of its life.

If so it will be traversing Canada Vancouver to Medicine Hat in a freight this week. I never tire of seeing photos of the Super Continental in the 1961 paint era.

The Burrard was built as a "tour" car that could be chartered for trips by the public. Tioga Pass was built as one of 12 business cars in 1959. The shells were built by National Steel Car and then fitted out by CN's shops at Point St. Charles, Quebec. The smaller window farthest from the platform is the kitchen. On the Burrard and sisister cars, the kitchen was closer to the lounge area, more in the middle of the car. Tioga Pass was CN 23, and later 93. It never appears to have had a name until we gave it one in the 90s. This picture was posted of Tioga Pass in June here on Trainorders.
