Freight Car Friday - CN/DWC Bulkhead Pipe Flats
Author: feclark

From a few hours on CN's Camrose Sub yesterday (Thursday, September 10), a quartet of bulkhead flats was in the consist of #315, southbound to Mirror (and ultimately Calgary?). I'd never seen this group before; they were remarkably clean for their age, and stood out at a distance.
1. CN/DWC 200119 was built by FreightCar America in 03/13, is 57' 1/2" long, 52'8" between the bulkheads; photo at Bashaw at 1724.
2. Shot further down the line at MP 89.52, Township Road 412 just off Highway 21, this is CN/DWC 200046 at 1738. What really makes these cars for me is the depth of the gussets for the bulkheads; a nice, beefy-looking flat car.
