Canadian Railroads > Scenic SundayDate: 10/18/20 03:09 Scenic Sunday Author: hoggerdoug Scenic Sunday, not to be confused with Signal Sunday or Switcher Sunday.
Images taken October 5, 2008 a few miles south of Prince George, BC, heading south on the BC Rail Prince George subdivision. Fall foliage is in full bloom. Not much colour on the trees in central and northern BC, lot of evergreens, the aspen and poplar only give a blaze of yellow. The odd birch tree would pop out orange. Certainly not the colourful display of hardwood trees found elsewhere. Every Autumn season, one trip per season I would get startled at night with the yellow leaves blowing out from underneath a trailing unit. In the light of the locomotive ground lights the yellow blowing leaves would look like flames under the unit. Sort of makes a person take a double look.
