On Friday the 13th 2020, a plow train heads west past the Virtual Railfan live cam at Revelstoke with a pair of SD40s providing the power.

Wow. I haven't checked the Revelstoke camera in a few days. My, how things have changed.

My family and I enjoyed the railroad museum where that camera is mounted. Unfortunately, trains do not blow for that crossing there so you get no warning of oncoming trains. By the time you realize a train is approaching and you get outside or to a window, the power is by you.

That is cool - how many multimark SD40s are left on CP?

that museum is on my bucket list when ever this damn virus abates........the no train horn crossings are also a problem with train viewing at the Oregon Rail Heritage Center here in Portland.....all the crossings south of ORHC are no train horn thanks to TriMet and the MAX light rail construction some years ago.   north of ORHC still horns but probably not for very long.

so how do we get at least day time approach warning toots or some other method announcing they are close???  (and yes, I now have posted at ORHC the Coast Starlight's schedule)
