Canadian Railroads > Rare mileage on VIA this week-endDate: 11/28/20 06:53 Rare mileage on VIA this week-end Author: DrawingroomA Metrolinx has had to shut the Oakville Sub. at Canpa Jct. for major track work for two and a half days. VIA is re-routing via Georgetown and Burlington Jct. Train #78 from Windsor to Toronto was the first to take that route Friday evening. Service will be back to normal by Monday. Due to the pandemic, VIA has only two round-trips a day on the Toronto-Windsor route.
GO Transit is running an express bus service between Toronto Union and Port Credit. Regular week-end train service is being operated hourly between Port Credit and Aldershot and four times a day to and from Niagara Falls. VIA is running the usual trains from Toronto to Windsor (#71 and 75) and back (#72 and 78). There are normally four return trips per day, but during the pandemic that service has been reduced to two. The re-routing between Toronto and Aldershot has made the trains about an hour late. |
